The Legacy is an 80-foot whale watching vessel, not a fishing boat, sailing three-hour tours from Seaforth Landing in San Diego's Mission Bay. Two decks, windows the length of both, covered indoor seating and open air on the bow and upper deck, with room for more than 100 passengers, three full-size restrooms and a bar serving snacks and drinks. Gray whales pass close to shore on their migration from roughly November through April; blue, humpback, fin and minke whales feed off San Diego through the summer and into fall. Dolphin, sea lions and seabirds show up year round, and the captain and crew narrate what you are looking at.
